0 – 1L Tetra Pak containers can be returned to a Depot

Did you know that Tetra Pak containers between 0 – 1L are eligible for a 10-cent refund at your local Depot? This includes single-portion juice boxes or dairy alternatives such as soy or almond milk. These containers are very easy to recycle and get made into new products such as toilet paper, cardboard boxes or office supplies. Unfortunately, nearly 25% of tetra paks sold in Alberta are not being returned to a Depot and cannot go through the process.

Make sure to return your tetra pak beverage containers to an Alberta Depot! You can learn more about the recycling process by reading about Carton Recycling in Alberta.

Visit the Containers Types and Refunds page to learn more about all of the different types of beverage containers you can return to an Alberta Depot. If you can’t find the type of container you’re looking for, try entering the brand name or the UPC code in the BCMB Portal Search.
