Drink in the goodness: Recycling Fundraisers
Alberta Cans for Kids is a fundraising initiative implemented by the Alberta Bottle Depot Association (ABDA) to raise money and awareness for important causes by doing one simple act we all do every day - recycling beverage containers.
Through Cans for Kids, you can donate beverage containers eligible for a deposit to Ronald McDonald House Charities® and the Stollery and Alberta Children's Hospital Foundations. Together these organizations provide, support, accommodations, and much need medical care to families and children throughout Alberta.
Since 2009, $900,000 has been raised by the Alberta Cans for Kids program.
Simply take your eligible beverage containers to your local Depot. At the Depot, there may be a bin set aside with special signage indicating it is part of the Alberta Cans for Kids charity program. The Depot operator will recycle containers placed in the bin and the beverage container refunds collected will go directly to the Cans for Kids program. It’s a great way to let your beverage containers do good in the local community.
